Instructor for Patient Care Technician Program
The Department of Continuing & Professional Studies is seeking an individual to teach, supervise and evaluate students in the Patient Care Technician Program.
Requirements: Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution. A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, one year in an extended care (nursing home) facility and one year in an acute care setting.
The program takes a total of 17 weeks to complete. The program is offered twice per calendar year. Upon completion of the program the graduate is eligible for state certification as a nurse aide. The graduate will also be CPR certified and technically competent in basic nursing skills (acute care), phlebotomy, electrocardiography, and data entry. Programs requirements are as follows:
Candidates must be competent in all areas of nursing practice and hold a current CT license as a Registered Nurse.
