Course Description: This course is designed to provide the student with an understanding of the theories and principles of ultrasound physics. The student will gain an understanding of the history of ultrasound and its usefulness as a diagnostic imaging modality. The student will be able to demonstrate an understanding of ultrasound equipment and accessories, how to use them safely and with maximum efficiency. Methods and techniques of optimizing the ultrasound equipment will be discussed. Clinical competencies will be performed at the clinical sites.
