This course introduces the student to pharmacological therapy. The nature and properties of drugs are examined. The administration of medications, dosages, actions, side effects, indications, contraindications and interactions are presented. Emphasis is placed on the importance of patient education concerning medication therapy, with a focus on cardiac pharmacology. Contemporary legal issues in pharmacology are examined. |
