This course offers an introduction to the theory, practice, and techniques of the clinical components of medical assisting. Topics include aseptic technique, preparation of examination and treatment areas, recording patient needs and data, measuring vital signs, assisting with patient examinations, and educating patients in basic concepts of diet and nutrition. Concepts of professionalism, confidentiality, and patient respect are stressed. |
