***Cardiovascular Technology Degree Program is currently Inactive***

Associate in Science with a Major in Cardiovascular Technology

Program Requirements

Cardiovascular Technology courses are planned as a progression of increasing complexity; they build upon one another and are taken in sequence. A minimum grade of  "C+" is required in each cardiovascular technology course. Pass/Fail is not an option. Students must successfully complete both the theory and clinical components of the cardiovascular technology courses in order to progress. Attendance is required for class and clinical experiences.

If a student fails to attain a grade of "C+" or better in more than one clinical cardiovascular technology course within the total program of studies, that student will be dismissed from the program.

If a student has failed to attain a grade of "C+" or better in the same cardiovascular technology course twice, that student will be dismissed from the program. Any student receiving a clinical failure in a cardiovascular technology course will receive an "F" for the course and be terminated from the Cardiovascular Technology Program. A minimum grade of "C" is required in all science and core curriculum courses. All courses may only be repeated once. Students are expected to schedule additional time outside of scheduled Cardiovascular Technology classes and college/ clinical laboratory hours for the practice and redemonstration of skills in the College skills laboratory.

Clinical experiences are provided at St. Vincent’s Medical Center and other health care facilities within the community. In order to attend clinical experiences, students must pass a physical assessment and have a PPD administered and read annually.

In addition to the regular tuition and fees, cardiovascular technology students assume the following expenses: uniforms, textbooks and supplies, and transportation to clinical experience settings.
