Scholarships
St. Vincent’s Educational Grants
St. Vincent’s College has initiated a new Educational Grant Program which will become effective in the fall of 2012. New students will be eligible to receive scholarships based on prior test scores and academic achievement. These grants will be given for both full and part time status. If students find they need additional assistance to meet the cost of attendance, they are encouraged to file for financial aid.
Academic Scholarships
Academic scholarships are awarded to scholastically talented students entering the college. These are renewable each year.
Presidential Scholarships
Two scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded to students currently enrolled who will be entering the major. Two scholarships of $2500 will be given to incoming students planning to attend full time. The award is renewable for a second year if the student has maintained satisfactory academic progress.
Virginia O’Brien Fortin Scholarship
A full tuition and fee scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated financial need and outstanding academic abilities.
St. Vincent’s Medical Center Staff Award
A $4000 scholarship is awarded annually to a first-year student enrolled in a minimum of nine credits in their first semester. It is renewable for the second year if the student maintains a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0.
As additional scholarships become available in specific programs, there are announcements in St. Vincent’s College publications, the Fortin Student Center, and qualified students are mailed information from the Financial Aid Office.
Students applying for financial aid are considered automatically for named scholarships which are administered by the Financial Aid Office in accordance with the wishes of the donors.
