I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to St. Vincent’s College. As you get to know our College you will discover that St. Vincent’s is an exceptional place to study and learn. St. Vincent’s College is a subsidiary of St. Vincent’s Medical Center, a major teaching hospital with clinics and centers that provide education and health services. From our strong and supportive faculty, numerous opportunities exist to build upon clinical and didactic skills and opportunities to provide leadership to address access to healthcare for vulnerable populations, creating an effective partnership between academics and the community.
Our students and faculty are at the forefront of many new healthcare programs and initiatives. Our faculty are not only outstanding teachers and clinicians, but, are also individuals who have experience in their professions and are extending their knowledge to our students in the classroom and on-line. Our innovative curricula allows students to apply course credits to seamlessly transition from the AS programs to the BS Completion Program in Nursing, Radiologic Sciences and Healthcare Leadership. Our Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Leadership Program will prepare graduates to work in management or leadership positions in healthcare including hospitals, urgent care centers, long term care facilities and home healthcare. As the landscape of healthcare is changing Certified Nurse Assistants are in high demand. In addition, as the Affordable Healthcare Act expands health insurance options our Health Information Technology Coding Specialist and Patient Care Technician Certificates are meeting the needs of the healthcare industry.
The qualities that make St. Vincent’s College a great place to earn your health profession credential are timeless. Across America, the nation’s top colleges are measured by a single, essential criterion: Impact. By this standard St. Vincent’s College stands above the rest-our education is innovative and cutting edge and our graduates are leading the way in hospitals, clinics and preventive health sites to provide first-rate healthcare to the insured and underinsured. In fact our new Clinical Genetics Course will study the effect of genetics on the provision of healthcare to individuals, families and communities across the lifespan.
Welcome to the St. Vincent’s community. Our graduates often state this is where their life began-it’s where their life and career intersected in a meaningful and rewarding way. We all look forward to you joining our community of healthcare professionals. Please do not hesitate to write me with your questions at Michael.Gargano@stvincentscollege.edu.
