The purpose of academic advising is to provide assistance to students in planning their academic endeavors and to create an individualized plan for academic success. Academic advising recognizes the individuality of each student and facilitates the achievement of each student’s full potential by providing assistance in the selection of curriculum and courses, the scheduling of classes, the exploration of educational opportunities and career goals, and in identifying resources to provide academic, personal and financial assistance.
Students are assigned faculty advisors from their selected major area. Once you meet with your advisor you will be given a registration access code required to register online. Your advisor is listed when you view your schedule for the current term from Online Student Services. Go to Online Student Services now.
Tutoring services are available by faculty and peers, go to the mySVC Community in Blackboard Learn to see the current schedule.
