BRIDGEPORT--  St. Vincent’s College will host an Alumni Homecoming Day on Sunday April 27, 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Oronoque Country Club in Stratford.   The Class of 1958 will be the honored guests, but all alumni are welcome.

The event will begin with registration, followed by an 11:30 a.m. mass celebrated by Rev. Charles Allen, S.J., special assistant to the president of Fairfield University.  Brunch will follow along with the remainder of the program including a brief update about what’s occurring at the College.

“In addition to being a great opportunity to catch up with fellow classmates, celebrate accomplishments and reminisce about the past, Alumni Homecoming Day is also very important for the future of the College. The alumni play a key role in the growth and continuity of the College and helping it move forward for a new generation of students,” said John K. Fisher, Ed.D., President of St Vincent’s College.

Dr. Fisher said he hopes this year’s Alumni Day will help to build a stronger alumni organization. “We’re hoping that people will step forward and take ownership of their classes in a spirited and engaged way,” he said.

Describing alumni as “college ambassadors,” Dr Fisher said that during the past year many alumni have stepped forward to serve as class representatives, update the listing of  alumni from their classes and helping to collect information for the new St. Vincent’s College Alumni Report.

“This effort has assisted us in reaching more alumni, and keeping all alumni well informed about the College and their opportunity to support its program,” said Dr Fisher, noting that Class Representatives have also helped with reunion planning and building attendance at other events  throughout the year.  Anyone interested in volunteering to serve as a class representative, please contact Janice Faye (203.576.6355 or jfaye@stvincentscollege.edu) or Anita McCain (203.576.5481 or amccain@stvincentscollege.edu).

The fee for the luncheon is $40, free to members of the class of 1958. Please respond by April 16.  To make a reservation contact St. Vincent’s College 576-6355.
