Hospital Coding Specialist

The 25-credit Hospital Coding Specialist Certificate program is an effective, time efficient way to gain skills necessary to enter or advance in the hospital coding field. Students in the program learn medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology, insurance claims and the nomenclature and classification systems utilized in health record coding.

A minimum grade of “C” or better is required in each course.  A minimum grade of C+ is required in all science courses.

  • English Placement Test

Start Date: Generally the students begin this program in September. However, students can begin in January on a part-time basis if all admission requirements are complete.
